Dear Students
The National University of Singapore will be conferring an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree on His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam. The award will be given in recognition of His Majesty's role in leading Brunei Darussalam in its development, as well as for His Majesty's outstanding contributions to bilateral relations between Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
The award ceremony will be held on Thursday, 27 January 2005 at 10 am at the University Cultural Centre. NUS Chancellor, President S R Nathan, will preside at the ceremony. Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and other Cabinet Ministers will also be present. The ceremony is expected to last about an hour and will be followed by a reception.
All students are welcome to attend and witness this ceremonial event. Please contact Ms Mala, providing her with your name, matriculation number and contact number either through tel: 68742455 or email: osamg@nus.edu.sg by 19 January 2005. An invitation card will be issued to you in due course.
