summary of what happened a while ago:
woke up, had breakfast, dressed up. went to UCC (University Cultural Center) with Ivy. stood in awe while watching the ceremonial procession of the bigwigs. noticed that his excellency president sr nathan looked more like a sultan, while the sultan of brunei looked more like a character in some cowboy movie. scanned the room for the other dignitaries and VIPs like prime minister goh chok tong and members of the cabinet. remained standing for giving of respect to the national anthems of both singapore and brunei. listened to the speech by NUS president professor shih choon fong. listened to the dean of the faculty of law as he babbled about the achievements of the sultan. (his majesty became the crown prince at 15, and his father sort of gave up the throne so he would be sultan already at such a young young age of 22!). tried to listen intently at the speech of his majesty sultan haji hassanal bolkiah mu'izzaddin waddaulah. stood up again for the national anthems. joined the queue for food, glorious food. (grand hyatt hotel catered the food for the reception. i guess. was printed on the tissue.) ate the food, glorious food. went back to hall to change outfit. blog about the summary of what happened a while ago.
